Vivaldi, Antonio: Concerto in A Minor (RV 522)
for descant recorder and obbligato harpsichord
ISMN
Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741) composed for the general public rather than an intellectual elite. His music sounds spontaneous, clear and melodic, with a lot of variety and contrasts. Many composers, including Bach and others, demonstrated a great interest in his work, as seen in their arrangements of his music.
The present edition is a new arrangement of the popular Concerto for 2 violins, strings and basso continuo in A minor, RV 522, adapted for descant recorder and obbligato harpsichord. This arrangement, offered with all due modesty, serves as a tribute to Vivaldi and provides new repertoire for the descant recorder and harpsichord.
