Francesco Geminiani: The Art of Playing on the Violin, transposed for Viola
Op. IX, London 1751
This violin method of Francesco Geminiani is indispensable for violinists who like to learn the violin technique and practice of the 18th century. The present edition will provide viola players a much easier access to playing the method on their instrument. All pieces have been transposed down a fifth and changed into the alto clef. We have endeavoured to reproduce the graphic style of the original publication as closely as possible. With the original preface in facsimile.
