Franz Benda, concertmaster of Friedrich II’s Hofcapelle, composed over 100 violin sonatas. All of the original Benda manuscripts have been lost. Only varying manuscripts of several copyists exist. This edition is based on the manuscript copies by Johann Georg Pisendel.
